Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Find 32-bit or 64-bit system type in Windows 8
- Right-click or tap and hold the lower left corner of the screen, and then click or tap System in the menu./li>
- Find System Type in the System window, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Find 32-bit or 64-bit system type in Windows 7 and Vista
- Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer.
- Select Properties.
- Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Find 32-bit or 64-bit system type in Windows XP
- Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
- Select Properties.
- On the General tab, locate the Windows XP version name listed under System.
If the version name contains the text x64 Edition, your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows XP.
If x64 Edition does not display, your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows XP.
