Find 32-bit or 64-bit system type in Windows 8

  1. Right-click or tap and hold the lower left corner of the screen, and then click or tap System in the menu./li>
  2. Find System Type in the System window, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

  1. Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

Find 32-bit or 64-bit system type in Windows XP

  1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. On the General tab, locate the Windows XP version name listed under System.
    If the version name contains the text x64 Edition, your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows XP.
    If x64 Edition does not display, your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows XP.
